A WONDERFUL VIEW OF THE AMERICAN NAVY BATTLESHIP U.S.S. ILLINOIS (BB-7) IN DRY DOCK. Commissioned in September 1901, she was used to test a new floating dry dock (shown here) shortly thereafter. In 1907 she joined many other battleships as a member of the Great White Fleet for its cruise around the world as a show of American military / naval power. Caption is "U.S.S. Illinois in U.S. Dry Dock, Largest floating dock in America, U.S. Navak Station, New Orleans, La. 16,000 Tons". This is a Divided Back Pre - Linen card from some time soon after 1901, when the drydock was tested. Unused, in Good condition with 2 or 3 light creases and minor corner wear.
