This is a hard to find piece of Great Britain postal stationery posted from Clapham, England to New Orleans, La, USA during World War 1.
It is a postal card imprinted with vivid red 1 Penny postage bearing the image of King George V, with strong color.
Posted from Clapham Mansions to The Hon. J.A. Van Walt of New Orleans, Louisiana. The message on the back advises the recipient that the sender has written to another person advising him to write to the Quartermaster at Witley to ask that packages be forwarded ,and gives the address of the Canadian Corps Heavy Artillery, Reinforcement Camp, B.E.F. France.
No damage of any significance seen other than a crease in the upper right corner, a little minor wear in the middle of the bottom edge and some minor corner wear (see scan).
Very nice wartime correspondence. Just $6.00 postpaid to a US address, or $7.50 postpaid to anywhere else.
