THIS IS VERY POSSIBLY A ONE OF A KIND, UNIQUE OLD PHOTOGRAPH SHOWING A GREAT VIEW OF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LOS ANGELES RIVER BRIDGE IN LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA BY A FLOOD IN 1969
We have many other photographs taken by this photographer, and he focused on railroad and train scenes, so we're almost certain that this was a railroad bridge or trestle over the river.
The very active river, still in flood mode, is captured in this photograph roiling around the remaining portion of the bridge.
In NEAR MINT CONDITION
It is hand-identified as being the Long Beach Calif. Los Angeles River Bridge destroyed by flood on the back of the print. Not dated, but found with dozens of other photographs taken by the same photographer, all of which that were dated were from 1960 and 1969. Since the Los Angeles River did flood in 1969 we have very little doubt that this photograph was taken during that flood.
Overall Condition: just about like it was just printed yesterday Bends or Creases: None Corner Wear: Extremely Minor Additional Information of Interest: A nice find for railroad / bridge / flood / disaster collectors.
$9.50 postpaid to a US address, or $11.00 postpaid to anywhere else.
