This fine unused vintage linen postcard, in near mint condition, features a great view of the fabulous "Wonder House" in Bartow, Florida around 65 years ago
Description: This unique residence was built in 1925 by Conrad Schuck, who was told by his doctor in Pittsburgh that he only had a short time to live. Schuck moved to Florida, began work on his home, and defying his doctor's description, continued to add to the house through the 1940s. It featured a natural air air conditioning system utilizing rain water, outdoor bathtubs on secluded porches, and a system of mirrors that allowed residents to see who was at the front door from a number of locations. It became the subject of a Ripley's "Believe it or Not" cartoon..
