This cover relates to the Pittsburgh Steelers and their great football dynasty team of the 1970s and early 80s. It honors the Steelers' victory in their FOURTH Super Bowl (# XIV), as well as Super Bowl IX, X and XIII. It has a very nice pictorial cachet (the design printed on the envelope) showing a Steeler in uniform, the Steelers logo, Three Rivers Stadium (which no longer exists!) and the Lombardi Trophy that they won that day. Appropriately, the stamp is Scott # 1789, the 15 cent John Paul Jones "I have not yet begun to fight" stamp. It has a very clear and nicely placed pictorial football helmet-shaped cancel from Three Rivers Stadium Station Pittsburgh PA dated Jan 20 1980, the date of their last Super Bowl win.
The cover was never sealed and is in excellent, just about PRISTINE condition with no rips, tears, creases or other damage seen.
$6.95 postpaid to a US address, or $8.95 postpaid to anywhere else.
